Conditions have been very good, with moderate breezes from the north and sunny skies.
George from Anchorage, Alaska, who has made over 20 fishing trips to the caye, said there were more tarpon on the flats than he has ever seen. In the past week, he managed to boat and release 4 of the 6 poons he jumped. Small, light colored tarpon flies are producing the best results.
Mark and Kurt, brothers visiting from Washington and Florida, focused on snook one day last week. Eleven of these fish fell victim to baits thrown right up against the mangroves. Deceivers, Clouser minnows, and deer hair divers are the best bets for snook.
Using a kayak to gain access to the lagoon has proved to be quite successful, as well. Bonefish, up to 5 ½ pounds, have been landed on gotchas, Charlies and puffs utilizing this tactic.
Jim and Ron from Bozeman, Montana had numerous shots at permit, before Jim found the proper crab pattern that enticed an 18 pounder to eat. Patience and persitence is the name of this game.

Hey Shu,
Is this who I think it is????? This is Doug and Matt. Remember DDI and PPG from August trip to El Pescador.
Sounds like things are going well in the fishing world. I'm still practicing my double haul even though its only been 30-40 degrees lately outside.
Can't wait to return for more fun and fishing.
Until then,
catch a few big ones for us......
