Ras Creek is out of the hospital and back on Caye Caulker, slowly trying to get his strength back.

Thank God for his recovery, may he continue to regain his former health.

And way to go, Tourism "Police". That's the way to keep tourism healthy in Belize, beating down a tour guide for an alleged infraction as to boat load. The tourists who witnessed that altercation will surely have doubts about returning or recommending Belize as a vacation destination.

This entire situation is deplorable. Besides the injustice done to the tour guide, the fact that the police MADE the tourists delete any photos or videos of the incident are the kinds of things that happen when you have a police state.

Ras Creek is a Miracle : Drs mentioned it again last time he went for a control. His last scan from 2 weeks ago shows he is ok.
On a daily basis, Ras Creek is doing well, he has couple issues but after such a big surgery and coma, no complain. The recovery will take time. We want to be confident.

For those who want to help him financially, you can deposit any amount on his Atlantic Bank account # 210436232 under the name of Bert Rudolph Nicholas Jr and please confirm it by e.mailing him on his personal address rascreek1@hotmail.com . We'll then e.mail you the medical receipt. Creek's next appointment at the KHMH is on April 17th.

Thank you ALL for your support, prays and help. It was greatly appreciated while Creek was at the Hospital and we still appreciate it while on recovery. Life is precious, we need to take care of it. Creek motto - written on his boat - is "Love, no war"... it has even more sense now ! Thanks Very Much to ALL of you, Take Care,

Although there are two side to every story I do find it very fishy that the deletion of footage was demanded. Someone here mentioned a police state. Nothing in Belize will change unless the people demand it. But tourist won't speak up because they are on vacation. They usually don't notice the local problems. Expats won't speak up because they are constantly told this is not their country and are resented when they try to do good. They want their money but not their opinions. So its up to the natives to demand change. But from what I've noticed is that the people are extremely complacent. Either they don't care or don't know how to fight for a better life. The government is banking off of their silence. Some of the simplest things that you would think the people would demand be changed or fixed isn't because they just don't speak up. This complaceny is preventing this nation from being a true paradise for all.

This is not the first time police here have taken cameras from tourist and locals. On San Pedro off duty police beat up a local young man who just tried to protect his girlfriend from the drunken off duty polices advances, 3 or 4 bystanders took images and were also assulted to delete images. Police here are seen drunk in public on occasion with thier guns on them. Its alarming to tourist, locals are used to it. Its sad because we do have many police that try hard to do thier job, and are proud of what they do, its the few that spoil the pot. They seem to just get transfered...and when people do speak up, and they actually do, it is swept under the table.
