If recent and not so recent events are any indication the "big people" don't seem to have any oversight and operate with total impunity. Having said that a "nursing home" type of situation would not be controversial and would likely be welcomed. My point, as some others, is that there is(IMO) not enough of a return for the investment that would be required. I seriously doubt any bona fide company with the required resources would commit those resources to such an endeavor...

I found this comment interesting, perhaps off topic, for which I apologize. It's about the upcoming Bilderberg conference.

- "Until a couple of years ago the press were silent about Bilderberg except to brand anyone who mentioned it a conspiracy theorist"

We're so far in the grip of the elite that they don't even bother hiding it any more.
The pigs now leave the farmhouse and walk around on two legs wearing jewelry. We just stand around covered in mud complaining ineffectually from a distance"

Don Greife , the Chiquita Banana thing happened some time ago. The big picture, in my opinion, was Chiquita was charged with bribery and stuff and put up a defense that that's way business is done or it doesn't get done. Chiquita lost and paid a big price. Still in business though, as some entity, I think.

First, there is at least, a perception that the local medical community is unprepared to provide quality services. If this perception is incorrect I would hope that they would just tell us and let us know that the skills are in place to provide quality medical services on the island, but lack infrastructure to practice in. That is to permit and support private enterprise funding of "community projects" where the investors become stockholders and directors in the project.

The New Red Cross Chapter in San Pedro has been conducting Basic First Aid classes every month. Since March of this year we have trained nearly 75 locals. While it costs $50.BZD to attend these classes, the San Pedro Chapter does sponsor qualified candidates who can not afford to take the classes. Very few if any of the local police, firemen and Tourism Police have had basic first aid training. These and community health workers are the ones being targeted for these sponsorships. This takes funding and one of the ways the local Chapter raises money is today's BINGO at FELIZ BAR AND GRILL starting at 4:00PM. So please consider coming to this and help support the efforts of the local RED CROSS CHAPTER in getting as many people on the island trained in Basic First Aid.

The next class is on June 29th at Exotic Caye resort. To register email shirlee.spbrc@gmail.com
