Anyone have a good email address for RFG Insurance on San Pedro. We can't call as we are from the states and the email keeps bouncing back. The e-mail that was posted here is Selene@southwindproperties.net. Do they deal in medical insurance? We are moving there in January and need to get this going. Thanks for any help, names, or other companies you can recommend!

Several items - you can call Belize from the US. You dial 011-501 and then the local 7-digit number.
If you find this to be too expensive to do as a direct-dial, you can sign up for Skype on your computer and use your computer to dial to a phone line. The cost is minimal and the set-up is very easy. I do a lot of international calling this way and find that it is literally pennies per minute.

R F & G does not sell medical insurance.

BUPA is one of the international medical insurance companies of choice for ex-pats here. I believe there are others, but I don't have details on them. BUPA can be found online. You can also buy BUPA through an agency in Florida. This agency is owned and operated by the Roe family. The Roe family also owns and operates R F & G in Belize; hence the mistaken impression that RF & G sells medical insurance. They don't although the lovely Joyce Perdomo in Belize City R F & G office is often helpful in providing phone contacts in Florida to those of us who loose our phone-logs and can't reach BUPA direct.

Thanks. I heard BUPA was very expensive but i guess will will contact them, any others that you know of? We will probably use local docs for non life threatening stuff.

I can't comment on the level of cost versus benefits, but I do know BUPA is efficient and easy to work with - the coverage is quite good and you can see any doctor you choose.

RFG insurance person in the US. BUPA is impressive. Almost like having a relative in the biz. They recently secured an apt with a specialist at the Cleveland Clinic in FL within 4 days. The best I could do on my own was a 6 week wait. Worth it for that alone

So you are saying Judy is the person in US that could help us with BUPA? I am from Cleveland, the clinic is one of the best!
