not too much info at all. Blast everyone. If you limit your correspondence to one or two in particular and that person(s) decides to sit on it.....you're screwed. hit 'em all!!!!!!!!

Strength in numbers.

The San Pedro Animal Hospital has been wonderful with my lets. We did have an epileptic dog for years as well as two cats and a new pup. Al nave been cared for exceptionally well by the SPAH.

I will be bitterly disappointed if they are forced to close their doors.

Saga is a great humane society but it doesn't have an emergency vet on call 24/7 which is important when you live here.

I wish you all the best in resolving this issue.
My experience in sending the government of Belize e-mails was no response from anyone.
Maybe it will take a group to show up on there doorstep.

Why not prepare a letter of support and then have all those that are happy sign it the key here is to show that you guys think she provides and excellent service unfortunately negative complaints always get more attention that happy campers.

The key now is to drown out the 2 complaints by hundreds of positive comments by happy customers

"positive comments by happy customers" That is the key. Being bombarded by people that have no vested interest is not going to make the person on the receiving end happy and could even have a negative impact.

For what it's worth, as we speak (on the eve of a holiday) the Dr at SPAH is working to save the life of someone's pet (feline) that looks as though it may have ingested poison.

SPAH was the only choice as SAGA is closed for the holiday weekend. IE, if it were not for SPAH, the animal would be dead right now (or suffering beyond description.)

I hope that all of the entities involved in the licensing process can shelve any personal issues/politics that may exist and acknowledge that the island as a whole is SO MUCH better off having SPAH running here. The long and short is that island will INSTANTLY become a very LESS DESIRABLE place to reside if veterinary care such as offered by SPAH is absent.

On a personal note, I have had dealings with SPAH on a near constant basis from their day 1. They've treated a dozen of our animals... bettered their lives... saved a few... compassionately were there at the end for many... have made countless house calls... and at every turn in the road were professional and caring.

Some of you may know our most recent rescue Elsie, a neglect/abuse case from Dangriga SO bad as to shock even seasoned vets here in Belize. Two weeks ago, as the final step in what has proven a REMARKABLE recovery, Elsie had her back right leg amputated at SPAH. Dr Trish's work was amazing. And the epitome of compassionate care? How about the staff of SPAH laying on the floor, holding Elsie tight... an unexpected amount of blood loss lowered Elsie's body temperature... to warm her as she slowly recovered from anesthesia, the staff held her tight under a blanket to impart their own body warmth to her.

This is the service that we will be losing...

That can't happen.

Couldn't agree more. We've had a long relationship with both SAGA and SPAH. There is a clear need for BOTH services here on the island. There is more than enough business, need and support for BOTH!!!

On New Years Day, two years ago, my girl lost the use of her back legs and was in distress breathing. Dr. Camille came to the animal hospital within minutes and evaluated her. She even came to my home to help me learn to sling carry my dog to go outside. The cost for an emergency visit? Fifty Belize dollars.
I support SAGA events and recently adopted a pet who unfortunately did not survive his illness. This town needs both entities and I hope the government will use common sense in assessing this situation. I will also add my voice to the others with the authorities.
