It was 'The Belizean' when I first came to the island. Decorated beyond belief. The wood post in the dock where mahogany tree trunks with more than 30inch diameters. A lot of money and style was put into the place when it was built.

I know this is an old topic. I was at the property
2weeks ago and I'm curious too.
Any new info on the property?

A New Visit to The Most Fascinating Property on Ambergris Caye - Essene Way

And so…it is in its current state. Here are the pictures of what is there as of yesterday. Fascinating and hauntingly beautiful. I'm glad there are people living there…this huge property on one gorgeous stretch of beachfront might, otherwise, creep me out.

On the south end of the property nestled just up against Captain Morgan's Resort is the only more current development.

And then the first of a few pools…I can imagine that the only users are mosquitos.

There is a beautiful wedding chapel that has, like the rest of the property, fallen into disrepair. If anyone has pictures of any marriage here, I would SO love to see them.

Thanks for the post. Many years ago, we would walk the beach on North Ambergris from out place at Belizean Shores and marvel at the place that this resort. I use the term loosely as it had every appearance of a survivalist sanctuary. For a time, there were restaurants housed there. A Pizza place and then an annex to a town restaurant serving more Mexican fare.

The crumbling architecture and overgrown foliage caught our eye. For a time, it was the only place between our resort and Captain Morgans. There were lights, but only a few. Right now, the place kinda creeps me out. Am I the only one?

I drove through there last month. I love the place. For those of you who say it creeps you out - what about it does that?

For being abandoned it has survived amazingly well Yes, Wayne (AKA: John Wayne) was there and we had quite a chat. You can learn a lot from him.

A number of years ago we held a North Ambergris Caye Neighborhood Watch meeting there. There are still some good spots that are usable.

I would love to see the place restored. KEEP up the investigation and reporting.

Nope.. YWAM was at Sundiver before they went to Journeys End.
The Essene Way crew was on a different wavelength .... Which included a select number if people surviving Y2K and a certain leader being anointed by dolphins.
