Just returned from a fantastic trip to Belize. Wanted to thank everyone on this board for info I got here that made our vacation even better. I would highly recommend a belize vacation to anyone who enjoys the water. We stayed at the Palms and it was perfect for us. Grounds were beautiful. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. We were treated like royalty by them all. Our rooms were wonderful and kept spotless. I would defintely recommend the palms for anyone who wants to be able to cook or just have snacks readily available. We dove with Amigos del Mar (our 2nd time with them) and would definetly go with them again. They are first class. One of our dives was a night dive and our daughter (the family snorker) did not want to miss out so she did a night snorkel and absolutely LOVED it. Just wanted to write and thank you all for the info I found on this board.
Thank you all.

Thanks for the trip report! My husband and I will be at staying at the Palms in about three weeks and it will be our first time in AC. It sounds like we picked a perfect place to stay. If you think of any Palms-related info. that would be helpful for us to know, I'd be appreciative. Thanks again for the report.

If you have any specific ?? about the palms I will be glad to answer them for you. Just ask. The Palms is about a block from the airport. We just rolled/carried our luggage (but we are cheap). It was close enough to do this without being worn out. The first thing we noticed were how clean and beautiful there grounds were. Then we noticed how helpful the office staff were when we checked in. They have a big jug of water in your room in the fridge waiting for you. After that water is gone you have several options buy water from the the distillory (soda pop too)(distillory will deliver to your room, buy water from the palms, or get it from grocery store. We had pop delivered to our room but we just bought the water from the palms. It was $2 a jug and for convenience we charged it to our room. Our room had all the cooking stuff we needed. Any activities or things like golf cart rental, etc just ask at the office and they will arrange it for you. No problem. Office hours were around 7 am to 6 pm. We were impressed with the palms and really enoyed it. Hope you enjoy your vacation.
more ?? just ask.

Thanks for the additional info. Its that kind of stuff that is nice to know though we don't know enough about it to even ask in advance, if that makes any sense. (i.e. is there cold water waiting for you in the room? Why, yes there is, as a matter of fact). The miscellaneous stuff...which can sometimes make all the difference. Thank you again!

And Johnboy- you are right...we'll be there at that same time. We are starting out with three nights on the mainland and then finishing up with 4 nights on the Caye - scheduled to depart on July 2, though by the sound of it, we'll never want to. Perhaps our paths will cross.

Pago - where are you staying on the mainland? We are getting to the mainland on June 20 - Renting a 4WD and heading to Banana Bank for our first night then staying at the Mariposa in Placencia for 6 nights. Then we'll be on AC about the same time you are. We will get to AC on the 27th and head home on July 2. We'll be staying at the 7 Seas while on AC.

SeaJay - We'll be "braving it" at the Black Rock Lodge for the first three nights of our vacation on the mainland. Yes, we were warned all about "the incident" (in advance) but are feeling good about it anyway. Just couldn't resist the beauty of the place. Hope you have fun where you are staying too.
