Christina that article is for someplace else, not here.

Suggest you get some first hand experience in all the various areas you find of interest. It is clear that internet research is giving you very little that is useful.

I'm sure it's different there. My father is from Puerto Rico and my mother - when they first met - went with him to his family's home and was absolutely terrified when she saw the size of the iguanas there. She tells the story of laying out in the sun carefree when all the sudden she saw two enormous iguanas just run across the yard. She stood on the lounge chair just screaming and jumping up and down lol.

I actually owned an iguana in Florida. They can be mean little guys but I've never seen a large one.

Anyway, I was just trying to help... a lot of wild animals are like that: they find a smorgasbord and keep coming back. We had to make a lot of changes when we had chickens because our hen house had been discovered!

According to Forestry, it's not legal to kill iguanas without a permit. A dog sounds like a good suggestion...move them somewhere else.

Iguanas/wish willies are part of Belize!

And a suggested list of plants is?

A little known fact... Women who are overweight tend to live longer than men who mention it...

I personally have a 'black thumb' and don't know the names of most plants. Your nursery should be able to help. In my yard I have a couple different flowering vines/crawling plants, crotons, oleanders, varieties of palms, plumeria, tropical flowers (ginger, birds of paradise), some kind of red leafed plant and more, all remain untouched by the iguanas.
