You're right, I do know a few people, including the Musas.
Tried both offices, best I could do was a guy I never heard of, I was told Said and Kareem are busy with politics.
Your screen name is a dead give-away, you are confrontational and never wrong.
I have been beaten out of all I had twice before in Belize by parasites, so I beg your pardon but I'll fight for what's mine wherever I please.
P.S. It will be going to Supreme Court now since I cannot get heard in San Pedro and I will definitely have a lawyer.
I was being a nice guy at $15,000 bzd, the price of poker went up.

I am confrontational. I don't sugar coat and I cut through the B.S. I have been known to be wrong and will admit it when I am, but sometimes people need a slap on the head with a wet mop before they wake up.

It seems like you are trying to get sympathy for your self imposed plight on a message board and on tripadvisor.

There are three sides to every story, yours , thiers, and the truth.

If the lease is in your name and your name only then just change the lock.

Not all pirates wear eye patches and have peg legs and you my friend, are in the land of pirates.

The landlord's a cop who stands a lot to gain by keeping all my improvements and equipment.
I have been twice to court and the Magistrate has refused to look at my lease, while duly examining the oposition's contradictory chicken scratch note.
This started in February, BTW, I didn't make a peep until she started with phony restraining orders and tripadvisor laments on my page.
Why don't you come down here and show me how it's done, without any B.S.!
BTW, there is a method to my madness which I'm sure you'll be able to somehow find fault with.
This is a public forum ans San Pedro is a small town.
I am of the opinion that this magistrate is overworked and underpaid, and cannot possibly do justice in all cases.
The allotted time you have is directly proportional to the amount of people in the overcrowded waiting room.
Perhaps, just perhaps my version will be told, albeit second hand.
Better late than never because that's where I stand now.

I already told you, if the lease is in your name only and your rent is up to date, you are perfectly within your rights to go and change the lock.

It dosen't matter if the landlord is a cop because we all know how the Caye Caulker cops conduct business.

A new owner tried the same BS with Palapa bar in San Pedro but Scott the owner knows his rights and basically told the guy to go F*ck himself. The Landlord put up some nasty signs and is slamming them every chance he gets and it is not going over very well with this community. I doubt he will have much business and that most will boycott his new bar business because of his jackass behavior.

I not finding fault, but YOU asked for advice, and by your own admission, it is the third time this has happened to you, and maybe you just don't want to hear it. so my advice to you is act like a professional, stop whining, and get yourself a good lawyer which is what you should have done back in February.

The court order stipulated that I was to be accompanied by the police or an attorney to go on my premises.
You are right about the CC police, they wouldn't take 5 minutes to help me.
Hiring an attorney to come out here every week to collect the now no doubt "missing" proceeds at $1,000 a pop wasn't a viable option either.
The landlord is now complicit, he is another "official" that makes the rules up as he goes along.
His wife is a restaurant employee and was admiring the nice facility I had put in her yard.
He had stipulated that I had to use the side entrance to the property, put it in the lease document and signed it in the presence of a notary.
When his wife didn't like people coming in that way he promptly took a day off and cut me a new entrance gate in the front.
This was fine for about a month, then he came to me one day and told me the lease was no good because it stated I use the side entrance.
I explained the law to him, that he had indeed stipulated this, and signed it in front of a notary public.
I went on to say it wasn't an issue with me, I wasn't using it, so why the beef?
He went away, and I thought the matter was settled, it wasn't being used and it wasn't an issue with me.
He has now seen the advantages of nullifying our agreement, appeasement of the wife, future acquisition of the improved premises and equipment, etc.
So he has now drafted the chicken-scratch note saying that I told him I had given the business to the ex!
He was leasing to her now from now on.
So he is now leasing the same property to two different people simultaneously, my printed notarized document lease doesn't expire for over another year.
The magistrate however will not even look at my lease, preferring to recognize the later-dated scribbled note.
So you are indeed right again, I need a lawyer, it's not like i didn't know this, I am just financially challenged again due to this fiasco.
I have made a call and left a message with a minister friend for a recommendation for a good civil suit lawyer.
I will now also be changing the venue to Supreme Court because the claim is well over the $15,000 Magistrate court limit, and I am not allowed to enter any of my evidence to that magistrate anyway.
I am much more tired of thinking and writing about this than you are of reading it, trust me.
This all to common "Extreme Taxation without Representation" Larceny really, is getting old, and I feel I must fight it.
