Hi, I'm new to the forum, and intrigued by Belize. I'm planning a visit to see if I like it.

Right now, I work full time in the US, and am trying to start an ecommerce website so that I'm not tied down to a particular location.

To make a long story short, if I fall in love after visiting and before my website is producing income... does anyone know what the IT field is like? I'm a beach person, so coastal locations preferred.

I've done PC repair/helpdesk, network administration, IT management, and some software development.

my son is a systems administrator and spent time at our resort on north AC straightening out the innards of their computer. Spending money to fix things is just not in the culture. in mexico the saying is everything needs fixing.

By law you would need a work permit, 2000.00BZ.If you can get one For starters.....If you go word of mouth you might find something, but there is competition from locals, and natives come first in the job market. My advice would be to get you online Biz. going in the states then hang-out in Belize without having to worry about income while you are here. Immigration is tight these days.

I suggest having and online business in yhe US with oversees market and.have solid income. IT jobs are not well paid here. Well paid IT personnel are in top government positions or with the corporations. Ive been in IT business from 2004 to 2010 and had to close my store. Doing it as a consultant, private service is better but still not the best option to live of. So its best if you have a primary income and you should be good with IT on the side. If you need we discuss some issues let me knw.

When I reached to the last reply of this topic, i realized that the IT jobs only competitive in cosmopolitan cities those you can only see high buildings.. I have been working as SAP consultant for 7 years now and planning to move to Belize for a new life. Do you reckon looking for a job different than IT jobs better ?

Hi this is Burak by the way, a Cypriot lives in Istanbul and trying to get out!
