hi all I need some input on qrp inports I'm in san pedro and a guy told me that people would pay me to import stuff on my qrp however I know that its for personal household stuff that being said if my container shows up with 10 tvs and a dozen mattress arnt customs going to tag me I would think it obvious that the stuff was for others anyones thoughts

It's probably not a good idea to advertise your possible intention to violate the terms of your QRP in a public forum. The key words being "people would pay me".

We have some good forwarding companies supporting Belize, they charge very little to bring in items such as TVs and other large household goods....Not sure if you can compete while putting everyone at risk for complete loss of goods.....Besides (IMHO) it might be best to start your residency here with a clean record.....It would be awful to go to all that trouble to set up a life to simply be deported over customs fraud.....It is Belize's #1 source of income..... Whatever you decide...Good luck smile

If my experience is any guide you will do well to get your legitimate imports in without problems. In my case I had several high value items, essentially, stolen by the customs people and several of them seemed to be soliciting bribes. So make sure your agent pays close attention to what you bring in and knows what he is doing. This was about 8 years ago and hopefully things have changed but I wouldn't bet on it.

So sorry we missed you tazh2o...We were looking forward to visiting with you...We open Tues-Sat 3p-9p....Our Happy Hour Social from 3p usually brings in a few of our local expats and we are blessed to be able to chat with them before dinner service....Hope you will try again...

Captain One Iron...Our last container was 2012 and we had it delivered to the island along with 2 customs agents....It was not cheap, however it prevented any loss....Our other containers carried large commercial equipment, therefore we did not worry about the Port agents walking off with something....However, we have heard stories even within the last year of 'lost' electronics at the Port.....
