This is true. The developer put up some poles on the property so they could say power is coming soon. I talked to the Power Company and they told me that ain't so. That was four years ago. However power will come. The problem is the Electric Company wants the owners to pay up front. I am not sure how many lots are in GBE but if someone could get a list of owners and put together a Landowners association maybe they could pool there money together and pay for this cost. Expect about 2 to 3K per lot!
I'm thinking the local government could help with this. Now I know you're already laughing Elbert, but hear me out. No power, no water, no sewer, rough terrain...those are the main issues why people don't buy on the west side. Every lot that sells, the government gets their cut in stamp tax. If these issues started to get crossed off the list one by one, lots would start to sell better and in turn, go up in price. More stamp tax money. More businesses would open as well. Bam. Tax money. Am I missing something. They paid big bucks for that North road to keep people coming to AC. Same idea. I honestly think it's in their best interest and they would make out well on this.
