I stopped using Tropic Ferry more than a year ago. They were undependable, the crew dressed like gangsters, the boats broke down often, they were in bad condition, and Patrick was non-communicative. In short, Patrick didn't care about his business, and I used them for several years.

I don't understand why a resort or private home owner would not use them. We save/make a lot of money by not having to pick up our guests at the airport.
I had exactly the same experiences with Tropic Ferry and switched to Nautilus. Tropic Ferry ran out of gas on the way to San Pedro on one trip with an overloaded boat. That was enough for me. They where great for several years but their management went down hill. Same old story, you can not manage a business here from the USA which I believe is what happened.
Michele at Nautilus was very nice and easy to deal with. My experiences with Nautilus where great but I haven't used any ferry service in the last several months. Last time I used them I did not have to book a party of five but that might be new this year.
