I visited San Pedro last year and I bought groceries at the markets a block or so from the Blue Tang inn and the Palapa bar and grill. I also rented a cart at a radio/shop/incense/smoke shop down the street north of there. I found the Lebanese owner operators rude to say the least and the Cart peddler tried to over charge me $50 extra for being 5 minutes late bringing them back a cart they told me they would pick up from me so I wouldn't have to walk back....Needless to say I won't deal with these jackass people anymore. And so I am wishing \to get suggestions from anyone who will offer an alternative for both or either preferably local Belizean owners but anything other than Lebanese jackasses.

I don't know about the groceries, but I have had incredible luck with Carts Belize over the years. Great carts and very friendly people. They are located near the airport.

I usually stay at the Blue Tang also. Just like the location to say the least. I use Island Adventures for my golf cart. They are located across the street from the airport so I just pick up my bag and walk across the street. Their prices are competitive with most on the island. You can email them for specials, ask for Lucy. I assume she is still there. She is very pleasant to deal with. I know my way around well so its so easy to just drive myself to and from the airport using my cart instead of waiting on taxis. As far as groceries, I usually just use the 2 shops located behind Blue Tang. They are close by and the Cayemart carries more selections from the U.S. for items I am sketchy about.

I Agree with Bwana. I have made over 10 trips to Ambergris Caye and I have used Carts Belize every trip. Great Carts, I've never broken down, always clean and excellent ride. They have 2 locations and 1 only 1 block from Airport. I always make advanced reservations and they have never let me down. Enjoy and stay away from jackass's!
