A short power outage affecting Northern Belize tomorrow as follows:
Power outage scheduled from 6:00am to 6:30am for entire Corozal and Orange Walk Districts and San Pedro, Ambergris Caye on Wednesday, August 15.
BEL to commission fault locator device at Westlake Substation at Mile 8 on George Price Highway.

Our power was out this morning August 16th Thursday about 6:10a for a short few minutes..... We had no interruptions on Wednesday the 15th.... We are good with that....  Either way, we venture to guess they repaired the issue....

Power outage scheduled for 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 26 to affect entire San Pedro, Ambergris Caye and Bomba Village. BEL to replace poles for transmission lines, install lightning arresters, conduct maintenance and testing of equipment, install a circuit breaker at the Maskall Substation, conduct line maintenance on the distribution system and remove hazardous vegetation near distribution lines in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye.

there is a power failure effecting Belize.
BEL are trying to find the cause right now, it is due to a fault on their transmission system, which presumably they mean the 115kV high voltage power line that links the Hydro generators to Cayo district, Belize district and then up through Orange Walk and the Corozal district to connect with power from Mexico.
BEL has found which branch or connection the fault is on, but have not found the fault yet.
They reconnected good power to Belmopan around 14:25 But when they connected the faulty circuit a few minutes later, it overloaded the system and tripped out the whole system completely again.

From Belize Electricity Limited - BEL, 1:42PM, November 20th: "Power supply to be restored at 4:00pm, Tuesday, November 20 to DFC area, San Pablo, San Marcos, Santa Paula and Escalante Subdivisions. BEL continues to repair downed high voltage lines in the area."
