Looking for recommendations for US CPA that has experience with US taxes and Belizean business and real estate ownership knowledge with clients already in this scenario?? Any solid recommendations??
My wife and I are planning on moving to Ambergris Caye, Belize. We have already bought property and have fallen in love with the country and the people. I am trying to gain a better understanding on the tax ramifications on if I keep a business here in the US and start a business in Belize and/or partner with a Belizean as a minority partner how that will work and affect my US taxes. I currently use a TOP CPA firm in the US but I do not feel like they have a solid grasp on Belize and tax implications because I was charge a lot of money for answers that someone knowledgable about this situation and US business taxes and Belizean foreign business ownership and/or Belizean real estate ownership would already know. I think I need a CPA that has clients in this similar situation who are not having to learn it but already have experience with this tax puzzle.
