Eight persons who arrived into the country last Friday at the PGIA have tested positive for COVID-19. Their status came from a rapid test, which was later confirmed by a PCR test.

The eight, who are from a family of 12 that qualify as "second home" owners in Belize.

They have been allowed to self-quarantine in the Cayo District.

This now makes ten travellers total who have come into the country and tested positive at the airport. Over 4500 have arrived since the start of this month.

Most certainly it would make sense that people are tested prior to embarking a plane to come here. I understand people want to come to their 2nd home but it is surely a common sense practice and morally a responsibility to your community and the people around you during your journey that you do not travel while infectious.

They had all of their required tests, odd that 8 would test positive, they arrived the 23rd.....crew had to quarantine, tested negative the 31st...
