Richard has been an island boy at heart ever since his parents made San Pedro their home 23 years ago. Coming from a Central American family, Richard learned the meaning of hard work and perseverance. His mother's teachings developed in him his entrepreneurial skills and drive to thrive in his society. Today, he is the owner of a small business, RCGO, where he has faced challenges but has also been granted the opportunity to help out his community in sporting events, food assistance programs, fundraisers, clean-ups, and other charitable causes. His love for his town, his home, is more than evident, as he still believes in his childhood dream to build a community that is strong and healthy for all residents and visitors.



WE PRESENT TO YOU JAZELIE "JAZ" AZUETA, COUNCILOR CANDIDATE FOR THE UNITED DEMOCRATIC PARTY MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS 2021-2024.

Jazelie, affectionately known as 'Jaz', currently works in the Real Estate Industry where she has gained over 15 years of experience. This has taught her the ins and outs of home ownership in San Pedro and the various challenges residents are facing. As a proud graduate of St. Catherine's Academy, her desire to reach out to the society is instilled in her educational background. Jaz is not one to boast about her accomplishments or involvements; however, she is an active citizen of the community. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Ambergris Caye where she participates in various self-building exercises that also benefit the community. In her spare time she participates in various community activities like clean-ups and fundraisers. Most recently, she co-organized a Christmas Toy Drive for the children of San Pedro. Jaz, a daughter of the soil, has never shied away from any challenge in life and is always ready to commit herself to work for our beloved community.



WE PRESENT TO YOU RAUL "COCO" GONZALEZ, COUNCILOR CANDIDATE FOR THE UNITED DEMOCRATIC PARTY MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS 2021-2024.

As a proud graduate of San Pedro High School, Raul has instilled in him the fundamentals and discipline to 'Anchor in Success.' Since very young, Raul has always been ambitious and goal-oriented. His entrepreneur skills have led him to own his own construction business, where he is both a licensed contractor and electrician. Due to this, he has seen the development of our community first hand along with its challenges and opportunities for improvement. Apart from his profession, he is no stranger to the sporting sector of our community. Raul has always been a football enthusiast, among other sports. His passion had driven him to organize football camps and served as Chairman of the Sports Council a few years back. His experience, ideas, and zeal are a great contribution towards the development of the island, and in the right direction, forward.

With an Associate's Degree in Business, Lorraine is the proud owner of Intro Lounge and Wild Flour. As a food and beverage professional in the Tourism Industry, she has contributed to the economic growth of the community for over 15 years by developing and teaching new skills through in-company training and by providing employment opportunities in our community. One of Lorraine's passion is baking with the ultimate goal ; she also loves to be involved in her community, which is why her next venture came natural to her. Breaking Bread is a non-profit bakery that caters and provides freshly baked goods to those in need. She believes that her diversity, open-mindedness, life experiences, struggles and accomplishments, make her a true representation of the people and a voice to their right for a better way of living.

Island grown, Marceli has always had an appreciation for her community and its environment; her vision has been to improve San Pedro, not just for now but for the future, which is what motivated her to further her education and graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in History also a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science with a Minor in International Relations. Marceli is often inspired by her grandmother's examples, life lessons, and actions; Ms. Celi McCorkle, known as the 'Mother of Tourism' for her great contribution to the Tourism Industry in San Pedro. She believes that the youths deserve the opportunity to prove their worth and teach them that they are not only the future but that the future is NOW. She is adamant that the representation of young people is the key to assure sustainability and progress in our community.



WE PRESENT TO YOU KENT "BOB" GABOUREL, COUNCILOR CANDIDATE FOR THE UNITED DEMOCRATIC PARTY MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS 2021-2024.

GET TO KNOW "BOB"
Kent, affectionately known as "Bob", made San Pedro his home over 20 years ago where he has now built a family of his own. Coming from a line of athletics in his family, Bob was surrounded by sports, where he developed a passion for it. Through his family and sports, he developed values such as discipline, inclusiveness, and integrity. Bob began his football journey on the island in 2001, which has led him to represent San Pedro and Belize in both National and International events such as The Lion Man Triathlon, where he was the Champion consecutively in 2013-2015, as well as Champion of the National Beach Cruiser Competition from 2014-2016. His major accomplishments and self-rewarding moments were participating in the End of World Marathon in 2013 and 2014 and in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. Along with his sporting achievements, he was awarded Person of the Year by Ambergris Today in 2016, a recognition he was humbled by since the community of San Pedro had the choice of voting. His passion and dedication for sports have led to his participation and founding of many clubs, activities, and events here on the island such as cycling, swimming, running, and triathlons to name a few. With an endless list to describe Bob, he has proven to be a great role model, coach, and friend for his community and especially the youth.
