Anybody have any info on Lily's hotel?
Will be staying there on the 22nd for 4 nights. By myself, so don't need much, but if anyone has the scoop, please let me know.

also, will be diving, so i guess, with the report from desert diver, i am wasting my time.

Never been to Lilys. But I met some people that were staying there they said it was clean but it just had basically a bed and a bathroom, small, not TV or AC. Dont feel bad it took them a while to talk to me. I also was a single traveler and still am. I will be leaving AC on the 22, though.

ptk . . . how many other places have you been diving for comparison? How many dives have you actually had?

You don't need to answer any of this. It's all just rhetorical.

If you have been diving a lot, you already know that all you need to do, is get into the zone. All you need to do, is look around and be calm. You already know, that if you do that, you will see and experience the most amazing things . . . no matter where you are diving.

Regardless, trust me, you will really enjoy the diving off of Ambergris Caye. Every time . . . and I do mean, every time, I do my first back roll in at SP, I think . . . I'm never going to go home again . . .

And then to top that of course, when I back roll in at the Atolls, I think . . . I'm never going to surface again . . . I'm just going to stay down here forever . . . because it is soooooo fabulous . . .

Sometime within the past year or so, there was a fella that came onto the Board and complained about the diving off of SP. He made quite a fuss about it. It really shook this one guy that was about to head down to SP. He'd been diving a number of different places and had really been looking forward to diving in Belize. After he read the report(s) set out by the guy from Idaho, he was quite upset and thought that he wouldn't like the diving. However, off he went anyway on his vacation to SP, thinking he'd be underwhelmed. He did a whack of diving, met a few people from the Board and came back and reported that the diving was fabulous and that the guy from Idaho didn't know what he was talking about. Say, all you longtimer, board guys (fellow ACholics, each and every one) out there, remember Mark?

my general theory about belize is go with an open mind.

expect a lot, you'll be disappointed. expect little and you'll think you died & went to heaven.

as always, just my personal opinion.

I have to tell you about Lilys. My husband and I take people down every year and we all stay
at Lilys. We love the PORCH. There is a small refrig in all the rooms. We get fruit
from the fruit stand and have some every morning. There is A/C in every room. It is
Clean and the staff is excellent.

Have stayed at Lily's the past 3 visits - as has been said, no frills but I'd stay again. Right in the middle of everything and Cholo's beachbar is right next door. Go for an ocean front room tho - either up or down. The family/staff both there & restaurant are the BEST!!
(have you checked out the Tides? looks nice too and just a bit farther N down the beach)
