It really gets on my nerves the way some post on this message board are deleted. It seems that if you're not showing off your fat American ass or talking about your next holiday it doesn't mean anything to anyone else and depending on how the administrator feels you might actually see a reply to your messages

i sometimes delete some of my own threads when they are beat.

Because the people that run this board have a financial interest in Ambergris Caye. They dont want anyone hearing the dark side, so they delete what they want. Without tourists, AC would die. So lets not hear about sea grass, dogs, pollution, dead reef, high prices, kids pan-handling...

Ok, I'm totally confused.
Seems like I've read a lot of both positive and negative things on this board recently.

DesertDiver, all the things you mentioned have not only been discussed, but they are STILL here for the reading. What exactly are you talking about?

Marty is the only administrator on this board at present so if you have a complaint about something you wrote being pulled, then email him at marty@casado.net and I'm sure he will explain why he pulled it if in fact he did.

It ain't rocket science.

The only thread that I am aware of that has been deleted lately is the one started by the man who was trying to expand his debt collection effort to this message board. Many of us, including the moderator, Marty, apparently felt that this was an inappropriate use of the board.
And of course, Prozac Man's spams are routinely deleted, at no small expense of effort by Marty and his helpers.
Your accusation that anything controversial is deleted is inaccurate. There are many intense, strongly worded debates on this board right now, such as (for example) the discussions about animal cruelty, Long Caye, whether there should be a marine preserve. You may wish to read those threads for a brief lesson on how to engage in debate in an adult, civilized manner.
The point is: Nobody is being censored for expressing strong feelings or for discussing a controversial subject.
Even people who are obnoxious, apparently incapable of engage in civilized argument and display evidence of being an asshole online are not deleted. May I point out that your posts are still there?

To the "let them listen" guy who thinks that its OK to let spooks invade our privacy because they are protecting us from terrorists: You must have your head up your ass. No, they are not protecting us from terrorists. They are much more interested in finding out if we visit Cuba, smoke dope, or send songs to our friends.
It's HARD to catch international terrorists. It's EASY to catch you and I breaking stupid laws that shouldn't even exist in the first place.
Picture a government employee: Is he going to do something EASY or something HARD?
