The expatriate owner of a quaint inn in the Toledo District has been callously killed. Police found the body of the 70-year-old British South African retiree face-up and motionless in a pool at The Farm Inn outside San Antonio, Toledo - which he owned and operated.
His body was discovered yesterday evening by two neighbors - who went to check on him after workers found the place closed up - which was unusual.
He had been shot four times - and tonight the COMPOL tells us that Kevin Brown's murder was likely the result of a robbery gone wrong.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"Yes, I know that yesterday evening late evening police responded to information of a murder in the San Antonio village of Toledo district and they went to a resort where upon arrival they saw the lifeless body of the resort owner with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the Punta Gorda polyclinic where we was pronounced dead on arrival. From what investigators are seeing or what investigators saw on the scene it would appear to be a robbery gone wrong and the place was ramsacked and several items were missing including the deceased's license shotgun and so there are person's that we are looking at with the hope that we'll be able to get some positive leads to be able to solve this murder in Punta Gorda."
On their website the Browns described The farm Inn as an organic farm in a breathtaking Jungle setting located in the rain-forest at the foothills of the Maya Mountains.
