I found a picture posted in 2016 by Noel Escalante of this corner. His post can be found at:

Mr. Escalante wrote about all the shops in that vicinity and mentions the store "Melilla's" where he bought "ceramic bird whistles and other wooden toys." I am researching the Melia family who operated that corner store. If anyone has memories or photos like Mr. Escalante's, the family would be thrilled to hear about it. Antonio Melia ran the store in the late 1920's to maybe the mid-50's.
