But one community that isn't too happy with these last minute liquor regulations is the San Pedranos. They say that while they're aware of the rule, it's never been implemented in their town before because as far as they know, Christmas is party time for tourists.
It's the tourism high season, so the DJ's, club owners, and promoters were all getting ready by booking local and international artists and preparing their establishments for some holiday hype.
But now, because they're not allowed to open or sell liquor, all that cash they've already spent has gone down the drain, and all the money they were supposed to make is only in their dreams.
Today, they told our colleagues at The San Pedro Sun that they wished they were informed sooner.
"We've just received a notice from the Commissioner of Police that San Pedro has its own liquor license carve out, and he will supply that to the media tomorrow."

Cabinet's Decision on Sale of Liquor during Christmas Holidays
Regarding the sale of alcohol during the Christmas holidays, Cabinet has decided that all liquor-licensed premises will be allowed to operate on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as per the standard rules of operation.
This, therefore, means that the closing hours will be as follows:
