Belize Weather Forecast: February 6, 2023

General Situation:
Ambergris Caye: Conditions this morning by Elbert just after this post!
Belize NMS: Present Condition: Light cloud cover in the south and west, mostly clear in San Pedro. Relatively dry conditions will support mostly fair weather today.
Advisories: None.
24-hour forecast: Sunny with a few cloudy spells today and partly cloudy tonight. Showers will be isolated, except for a few more over the south this morning.
Winds: E-NE, 5-15 kts

Outlook: (Tue & Tue night) Cloudy at times with a few showers mainly over central and northern areas on Tuesday, then mostly over the south Tuesday night. Isolated thunderstorms are also likely.
Sargassum Forecast from February 1 to February 8: A few showers or periods of rain will continue mainly along coastal and northern areas on Saturday morning, then gradually decrease becoming isolated by Saturday night.

The Caribbean Sea

A Gale Warning is in effect off NW Colombia. A strong high-pressure system centered north of the Caribbean Sea supports fresh to strong trades across the eastern, central, and portions of the SW Caribbean Sea. Seas are 6-9 ft across these regions, except for slightly higher seas to 10 ft off NW Colombia. Light to gentle variable winds and seas to 4 ft are across the NW Caribbean.

For the forecast, the subtropical ridge north of the area will maintain a strong pressure gradient across the central Caribbean Sea through the week. Strong easterly winds will continue over the south-central Caribbean, pulsing to gale force off Colombia nightly into late this week. Seas will build to near 13 ft during the strongest winds. Strong easterly winds will also pulse off southern Hispaniola and occasionally in the eastern Caribbean through the forecast period, and NW Caribbean Tue night into late this week.

OP Marty	The weather is dominated by the ENE Caribbean winds, but there is still a lot of cloud over Belize and they Yucatan due to the cool air hanging around. There are patches of rain around. Looks as if today again will be mainly cloudy, but with some sunshine and the chance of the odd rain shower. Last Night Temperature 22 °C 72 °F Yesterday max. OP Marty	Present Condition: Mostly clear on the mainland, a few light clouds remain. Sunny in San Pedro. A slight increase in moisture is expected late tonight and tomorrow. 24hr Forecast: Sunny with a few cloudy spells during the daytime and partly cloudy tonight. Showers will continue isolated, except for slightly more over the south and some coastal areas this afternoon. An increase in showery activity is expected tomorrow morning, mainly over coastal and northern areas. Outlook: A few showers are expected to continue with the chance of an isolated thunderstorm developing Tuesday afternoon over central and northern areas, then mainly over central and coastal areas Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
