The Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology (MoECST) is forging ahead on its agenda to bring Internet connectivity to all schools nationwide. However, even as digital information and technology are becoming the new norm, some students from schools in rural or remote areas of the country still don't have basic online connectivity for educational purposes.

The MoECST is attempting to satisfy that need through initiatives like ConnectED, which has already provided reliable internet access to 252 primary and secondary schools.
