Hello, you have a good point ! Personally,I am somewhat new on this message board, but I am very old having a history with central america and san Pedro Town. My wife and myself were Peace Corps Volunteers in the 1980's, we ended spending 5 years in Guatemala, and Belize. We were not ready to go back to the states and we spent living on Ambergris caye for a year. We managed a small hotel and a seafood restaurant right by Milo Paz's general store. We ended up living in Central America for six years. After going back to the the states living there smile , we went back to Latin America for about 10 trips, 5 trips back to Belize. I have travelled to Europe several times, and i have wandered to many parts of the states, but i have always thought Belize, Guatemala, and Southern Mexico is the most wonderful corner of the earth. San Pedro is a unique town, and i hope it will always have it's friendly local fishing town, even while it grows into the new era of tourism. Very-Best-Wishes, Prospero Ano Nuevo mis Amigos !

Right on fellow newbies!!.....We will be there for our first visit from 3/29 thru 4/6. We originally booked just ourselves, but as of today, 3 other couples are also comming down for their 1st visit as well. We have been enjoying this forum, and the website itself for months, and can't wait to finally see for ourself what AC has to offer. We shouldn't be hard to find, we'll most likely have Jimmy Buffet t-shirts on, and laughing out load with several cocktails in hand. Where can we feed those crocs anyway??? Looking forward to leaving a few sore-mouthed fish in my wake, and hopefully meeting a few board folks. Only 88 days, 6 hours, 42 minutes until we leave, but who's counting? Can you tell we are getting psyched for this?

Have a great time Seeking!! I think I will be there the week before you. No firm plans yet though! It would be cool to enjoy the festivities in San Pedro with fellow boarders, I agree! If I happen to get there the same week as you folks, I'll just look for the parrothead wearing the buffet shirt and smellin' of fish hahaha! wink wink

Happy New Year all. We are depressed as we still have to wait 27 days for our AC fix. We were there 3 years ago and it is still in our blood. Looked at countless other lslands and just have to be back in AC. Hope everyone survived new years and saved some rum punch for us.
