My husband and are will arrive Belize City on Saturday, Feb 1st. I still haven't decided how we should travel to AC. I'm somewhat leery of the small commuter planes. Does anyone have any info on the ferry? If we DO take one of the small planes, which airline is recommended and which Belize City airport is it best to depart from?

Take the flight, I am more worried about the big planes. The flight is fun and you get a great view. See you there!!

Both ailines are very good (Tropic Air and Maya Island Air). It is easiest to take off from The International Aiport. The Municipal runway is a little short and makes for some fun takeoffs and landings. You can take the Water taxi but, you will need to take a taxi to the swing bridge terminal and then take the 1.5 hour trip out to the island. This is a great trip at times (Nice weather not to crowded) and not much fun at other times.

The Air travel is about 15 - 20 Minutes and gives you a great view of the layout of the land. Fasten your seat belt and go for it. Cost round trip is about 93 USD

I agree Tropic air is the best way. The planes
are newish and the view is awesome. Go for it...
