Hi All!

Counting down the days until March 29!

Huge question! My dear, dear, dear, soon to be father-in-law loves to golf! Is there any golfing on the island, maybe a putting green in someone's backyard that he could use to satisfy his golfing addition! Hee Hee laugh

Smiles!

Follow this link. It will cost about $200.00 for the day. Caye Chapel is south of AC.

There are two choices for golf:

Caye Chapel Golf Resort (7,005 yards, par 72) This beautiful 18-hole seaside course occupies much of Caye Chapel, a privately owned island between Belize City and Caye Caulker. You can go by water taxi from San Pedro. Challenges include brisk prevailing winds from the sea and the occasional crocodile. Caye Chapel, 16 mi northeast of Belize City, tel. 501/226-8250. Unlimited golf for the day, clubs, cart and poolside lunch, US$200. Daily 9-4.

Roaring River Golf Club (1959 yards, par 32) If you've ever wanted to play golf in the jungle, this new 9-hole course near Belize's little capital, Belmopan, is your chance to do it. Don't expect a country club setting, but it's fun. The setting on the pristine Roaring River is ideal, and you can even take a dip in the river. Mile 50 1/4, Western Hwy., 2 mi west of Belmopan, tel. 501/820-3031, US$30 including clubs. Daily.

Our plane to AC had to touch down on Caye Chapel to drop off some golfers. We didn't see much, naturally, but she's a beauty.

A day on fantasy island for father-in-law.

Right, you can also fly from Belize City to Caye Chapel's air strip. The golf course will arrange it, for around US$100 round-trip.

Thanks you all! The info will really come in handy. It just so happens that almost every man coming to this wedding is a golfer eek !

Can't wait to get there!

Hi Winebrat: I hope that I won't create a big commotion with the well healed Blue Blooded Bastards, but I have a one hole golf course on the backside of San Pedro. Laughingly referred to as Laguna Punta Country Club, it is about 85 yards over water to a zoyzia green. Its a little primitive, but aren't we all!! I suggest a Wedge and plenty of golf balls for the Golf Course Superindependent(ME). Take care: Bill
