I've read that there are many electrical problems in Ambergris Caye. Should we be concerned with surge arrestors if all we need to do is repeatedly charge batteries for digital photography equipment? The warnings are a bit extreme? We're going to be there in less than 2 weeks!!!!!

Stayed at Banana Beach in August and had two very brief power failures during our stay. But the weather was great all week so it may not be as good if the weather is bad.

No power problems at all in any of the restaurants or bars we visited.

Most of the good resorts and restaurants on the Island have a generator.
So in case the power would go off, you don't have any problems...
