Individuality is a beautiful thing.

Of course one could jump ship at BC and fly back
a week or so later. Haven't researched what the one way fare would be to Houston, but it might be worth a couple days of gorging on the ship and a couple Mexican stops along the way down?
Do they offer any airline deals out of Belize?

Spend all your money after jumping ship. Then just bum around for a while. After Belize gets tired of you, they or the US embassy will give you a "free" ticket home. At least that is my plan.

So help me out. Flying in on the 21st to International--probably staying overnight in BC before going on to AC for a wedding. Heard BC isn't a safe place at night. What's a good way to spend a day there, also a day on the way back?

Spend all time on AC

Dr. Dog - Just curious as to your reason for spending two nights in Belize City? With the frequent flights and water taxi's it is easy to get to AC and then back within airline schedules.

There are zero reasons to spend a night in BC. There are a zillion reasons you'll have wished you spent your time on AC instead of in what has been correctly described as the dump that BC is. Get off the big plane, get on the little plane, get on the island, mon...IMO.

Only reasons for staying in BC are that hosts have rented a house on AC starting the day after we fly in, and don't know if we can get a room for one night on AC--would try for Ruby's or Martha's. Also fly out the day after the rent on the house is up, so have to find lodging for one night again. Do those lower end motels fill up early, perhaps months ago?
