I just contacted our local dive shop (Bamboo Reef in Montery CA/SF CA) and pointed them to this mssg board and requested any donations they (AND their customers) can give. Any other divers on this board PLEASE do the same with your local shops. It seems divers have a history of "looking after their own"... Belize has given the dive community A LOT (cannot possibly convery how great the folks at Amigos Del Mar were to my girlfriend and I this Aug)... we owe them any/all help we can give.

I tried to post a message on the forum at www.scubadiving.com but was not able to do it. If someone esle could try, that might help !...

Great idea! We will get on the phone to dive shops in the Austin area.

I am going to fax a sign for all the Dive Shops in Houston to post. Please try this in your area! I am including contact information for donations in the Houston area. If anyone else has the time to do this, maybe it would help!

...back to the top... c'mon, if you've ever enjoyed diving ANYWHERE, get on the phone w/ your local shop. Chances are, the person who picks up the phone/is behind the counter will have beento Belize.

Very good idea. We went to the Scubadillo Dive Club meeting in Dallas last night and raised $1500. Not bad for a spur of the moment contribution-??? Hope other dive clubs have good luck also )

i have contacted several dive shops in the houston area and most have been cooperative about posting signs with donation information on them. please continue to do this in your areas.
