Hello all!
I've been lurking for a few weeks, I found you folks while researching a one week package to Belize. After reading the posts and looking at the great pictures that others have posted, that one week trip has grown into 3 nights on the mainland, and 9 nights in San Pedro at the Corona del Mar. I'm really excited, I'm starting my SCUBA lessons soon, and want to do my open water certification dives down there.

Would love to hear from anyone who will be around AC the first week of July! Would be nice if my boyfriend who is already certified (as well as sometimes certifiable :-) could find a dive buddy while I'm doing my finals.

You're gonna love this trip! Just returned last week and had the same situation, my husband is certified and I completed my open water dives down there. He came along and dove with us, the first 2 dives are shallow (30') you do a couple of skills then got to enjoy the rest of the dive with hubby. The next day the dives are 60', same thing, a skill or two and I got to buddy up with my husband. It was great and also comforting to know he was close by at all times. Just a thought.

Good idea! I don't know if having him watch would make me more or less nervous. He suggested I get certified up here (Oregon) before we go. Hmmm......40 degrees and 5 ft visibility here or Belize 80 degrees and more than 50 ft vis.......tough choice, right?
