when we stayed at Banana Beach...the hotel courtyards were filled with the most colourful pieces of pottery...many planters like the one i took a picture of beside the pool...

i thought they were belezian...but turns out they are mexican...i know because my local hardware store is carrying a whole bunch of these same pieces...a HUGE assortment appeared this week in their garden department! was so surprised to see these works of art in my neck of the woods...

it was a nice reminder of our trip...in a very unexpected place...wish i would have brought a few pieces back...bet the price was better down there!!!

That croc kinda gave me that feeling like I was at Woodstock; like totally groovy man. Or was that a Pink Floyd concert?

mikell, We are staying at Banana Beach for a week in June. How did you like it? Anything we should look for or be aware of? And did you use their tour/activity desk for snorkeling trips, cruises, Mayan ruins, etc? We are first timers, and so excited that I expect my wife to start packing any day now... Thanks!

we loved banana beach...no complaints about the accomodations....had a third floor oceanfront suite...fabulous! monkey business tour/activity women were very good and very helpful...they will make the arrangements you need/want.

you can read my whole trip report with many pictures of banana beach at:

http://home.rochester.rr.com/herrick1

click on the belize - ambergris caye link from our home page...and "cancel" the annoying pop-ups with each link ...they came with the FREE web page software.

if you have any specific questions about BB, i'd be happy to answer as best i can...

you'll love AC!

Your trip report is wonderful. Now I am thinking that we should extend the trip for a couple more days! We will be celebrating our 5th anniversary and a birthday and feel that AC will be the perfect place to do it. I will get back with any specific questions after Susan (my wife) has a chance to look at your site.

Mikell - I saw your photos in your reports but have just viewed your whole album on the Shutterfly website. They are terrific! I viewed Goody's photos too and the feeling that I get is totally awesome! - Does anybody else feel that with all the info and friendly advice on this board when we go on vacation we'll actually be going to somewhere as familiar and welcoming as home!
