Thanks for all the suggestions. I will pass these websites on to them. It looks like it can be done if you want it bad enough!

Since many European countries are about the size of a city block, you pretty much need a passport just to get to the neighborhood pub.

It is not standard and not recommended but a US Citizen can enter Belize via the International Airport without a passport.

Belize Immigration at the airport will issue you a Tourist Permit for $US50.00. You will need valid ID and a birth certifate would help.

The airlines will give you a hard time with this but will let you go. Thus, it is best to call ahead and speak with a Senior Officer at the airport Immigration office, they do not like to be suprized.

The airlines will not always let you on without a passport (even if Belize will let you in) - they get big fines if caught. You can get a passport in one day if you have a passport office in your city and go in person to apply & wait it out.

PS - Jason - Ramon's does have the availibility for your friends for the 16-20 June but only for a gardenview cabana for $165/nt. I emailed them as well....
