Hi Y'all

Coming to Banana Beach at the end of October and will bring my own rods and reels for bonefish and snook fishing. Mine are all freshwater tackle. Is this a good thing to do , or shall I use the tackle from the guides?

I go each moth fishing ,when I go I use the guides equpt ,I use fishingsanpedro.com the famous capt bicho rivero .he has all brand new rods and reels and is one of the best there ,but all good guides who fish for a living should have good stuff or they will be out of work ..leave your stuff home and use your guys stuff unless you have a rod that you just love ..live the dream and enjoy ..

SHOOTER: Are you flyfishing or spin fishing? Either way freshwater gear is more than adequate. Just rinse it off each day, which you have to do w/saltwater equipment too. Banana Beach has a shower just inside the beach entrance for swimmers/snorkelers. Works great for rods and reels. I've found guide's spin equipment to be adequate, but their fly stuff just awful.(can't speak to Capt. B's fly stuff) It's really a cost thing for them. Even "cheap" stuff in the states is very expensive, if it's even available. If you're spinning and don't mind lugging another case around and waiting at the oversize luggage place, take your own. You're more familiar with it and know it's abilities/limits. If you're flyfishing, absolutely take your own, even if they're 2-piece rods.
