The release can only come from the court; Belize has a separation of powers between Executive, Legislative and Judicial just like any other democracy. That being said, politics can persuade the company to drop charges by pulling their licenses. That would be mainly the BTB (PUP), but also the Mayor and the town board (UDP) are a possibility. A problem that may present itself could be the upcoming elections in March.

At least 4 business people from the San Pedro Business Association are personally involved in this matter now. The Tourists will be taken by the hand to the BTB. Through this post and a mass email earlier today to 400 business people on Ambergris Caye, the BHA and BTIA we are asking support to show the BTB how serious the local businesses are, forcing them to rule and pressure Island Tours Golf Cart Rentals to follow their ruling.

The San Pedro Business Association has volunteered to take over these folk's position of responsibility for any damage claim over $2,000 Belize. Must go now as I am meeting another member of the SPBA in a few minutes to fly to Belize City in regards to this issue.
