Your last sentence made it very clear that you are a 'newbie'. Yes, the governments is well aware of EVERYTHIG! No they are NOT trying real hard! I live here and I love living here but am disturbed about the corruption, useless shifting of blame and absolute inability to do anything meaningful about it.

I was talking to a person (born and raised here) who was trying to explain to me that it is 'all about family' here. You are red if you family was red, you are blue if your family was blue. You are whatever your ancestors were and your ancestors enemies are your enemies.
You protect (cover up) all family bad acts and get even with anyone who hurts anyone in your family. WHAT DOES THIS REMIND YOU OF?
