I was shocked the first time I heard someone say "He is a very good liar."
Honest - that is how they pronounce the word lawyer here.

Law, what kind of clip are you wearing? A banana clip?

I used to get pulled over for that until I started wearing the plastic ones when I travelled. Now I just sail right through and my hair looks just the same in a plastic tortois shell clip as it does in a metal clip.

A fish and a bird can fall in love, but where will they build their nest?

Mine was just a regular barrette - little bit of metal. It's okay, I've now been informed that it's not the clip, it's my profession. I don't mind that so much - as long as my hair looks good! wink

they always seem to announce on the airlines, on the pre-flight safety notice, that you should switch off cell phones and electronic devices cause they might interfere with the communications systems. I always wonder.... IF that is true, then why don't we see more people trying to hijack planes by saying "if you don't fly me to (insert place hijackers would want to go) right now... I will turn on my cell phone. Or, why don't they confiscate cell phones?

In answer to the question way back there, I really have no way to compare because we use Aeroplan points to get to Houston, and pay after that.
I gather your son is a young man, full of energy, and able to take on the drive after the flight, so I think you have chosen a good, reasonable way for him to travel.

Speaking of airport security (I wouldn't hire most airport "security" employees to babysit my DOG, much less guard my planes), I wear a couple gold bangle bracelets (Hawaiian heirloom jewelry, if you're familiar with it) that just slip over my hand and don't have a clasp. Well, when you never take them off then gain wait, they are on for good, unless I get my hand wet with warm soapy water. When they triggered security at the airport last summer, I had to use my tongue to LICK MY HAND until it was wet enough to slide off the bracelets....while a hundred people in line behind me WATCHED me lick my hand! They wouldn't let me leave to find a bathroom for the soapy water. It was disgusting and embarassing. But better safe than sorry, right? I might have hijacked the plane with those damn dangerous bangle bracelets.

Wow - I can't believe they insisted you take them off. When I wouldn't take our my hair clip (and once when I wouldn't take off my shoes - the floor was disgusting), they just made me step to the side and get wanded. What would they have done if you couldn't get the bracelets off?

Hi Renski, how do you get all the way there on points? We can get to Houston or Cancun, either way it is an added expense to reach Ambergris Caye.
