Canuckgirl,

I think most of us agree with what you tried to do and good for you, I for one think you have a kind heart and only tried to help.

Yes, it seems that the "island" dogs live a different kind of life than most of us think a dog should live but still they are domestic animals who rely on us for their care and health needs.

My heart breaks for you just knowing that you are hurting right now, I know how easy it is to get attached and then have to let go, but just remember that you gave this dog a bit of happiness and love while you had her and I for one am glad!!

Good for you, you did all of the right things here....

Canuckgirl and Boi,
Sorry, but you knew this dog had an owner because I posted about it on this thread over a month ago. Your response was "Well...I feel bad about having someone's dog. If she wants her she can come and talk to me." As I see it, this was nothing short of a dognapping, though I presume your intensions were good. I'm personally glad to see that Bianca is back to being her playful self on the beaches of San Pedro Town, a life that she clearly enjoys.

We all must hone our sense of humor in order to survive here (on the island and on the message board.)
People come here from all corners of the globe and bring their individual set of values. It takes time to acclimate.
All ten units in my condo association came from the US. Only two units are owned by those of us who live here full time.
One of the first things some of the other owners wanted to do was build a ten foot fence around our beach pool. They were just sure they were going to get sued. The next thing was that all dogs had to be on a leash. Since there is a beach bar here and everyone brings their dogs you know how they handled this?
Honest? People put a leash on their dog and let them run around with it on. The sign soon came down.
Come on everyone - let's lighten up here.

Some people don't look forward to going to the bar and have some dog that just left the ocean......or a fresh roll in the sand to come by yapping... licking and sniffing. I don't care what part of the planet you're on. Dogs aren't allowed in bars for a reason. It would help if the owners would take the responsibility to teach their dog manners.

C'mon, you've been to Canuck's where the dogs often outnumber the patrons. Most everyone likes the dogs...if you don't you are welcome to move on down the beach.

H2Odog, I'd have thought you'd have known that most dogs can't read, so how would they know they shouldn't be in a beach bar?

(1) Dogs don't buy drinks.
(2) It's a bar not a kennel
(3) the patrons don't sh*t in the ocean
(4) The patrons don't shake off next to their neighbor
(5) The patrons don't sniff my a55.
As I said...better masters make better dogs, and I think you've noticed that I do leave when it starts looking like the front porch of the coon hunters house!
