Every airport charges passenger facility fees...whether you're departing, arriving or just passing through...the fewer airports....the cheaper the ticket.

I do not see any airport fees and I'm flying from RSW to IAH so there are 3 airports each way involved. Again if there is a large fee charged by BZE or IAH it must be hidden somewhere. If it isn't then the high fare must be supply and demand.


Nothing completely unreasonable to me...it seems like past tix to Belize have included something called a "surcharge" and I remember it being at least $100. Can't remember any further details, but I want to say it may have been a "fuel surcharge."

Clover, actually its just the opposite, the more airports the cheaper the fares will be. Competition. The fewer airports fares will be much higher. Monopolies. That combined with high transit routing and facility fees set by the airport or Government. Can force the airlines to charge outrageous amounts.
Laurie, you wont see the actual airport surcharges, and actual fees for using the airport, in your airline ticket.

I guess you missed what I was saying....ragman is connecting through several airports......fees are charged by every airport........the fewer connections....the cheaper the fare

Oh, yes I get it. Of course your right on re; that. Then routing comes in. When I use my miles I am always routed through 4 or 5 airports, instead of just 1 if I pay. actually have to go to the east coast to get to the west coast, but thats a routing issue.Still direct flights with no stops are up almost 50% in the last 4 to 5 yrs.

Not sure about all that. I looked at Austin to Athens Greece, a trip I have made more than once. Just over a grand with 4 connections (RT). Aus/ Bze , just short of $800...... Something stinks.
