Twitchy told you yesterday about the bizarre murder case involving anti-virus software king John McAfee in Belize.

He is now on the run from police - and Wired reporter Joshua Davis has been in contact with McAfee since last night.

John McAfee was accused of murder. He has been calling me throughout the day to explain what happened.

Davis live-tweeted breaking news of McAfee's continued attempt to evade arrest.

McAfee: "Police have arrested the caretaker of my home+my biz partner+taxi driver who gave me ride. These are Stalin-era tactics."

McAfee called just now: "I am adept at hiding. I will do whatever it takes to stay alive."

Early morning phone call from McAfee in hiding: "I will not turn myself in."

McAfee at 5am: "The police have set up roadblocks across the country to catch me. I slept last night on a mattress infested with lice."

McAfee 7:05AM PST: "Power was just cut to the house I'm in. I think this is it."

McAfee says he is not armed. If the police shoot him, it's not because he has a weapon.

McAfee just called: He has changed locations. The police have not caught him yet.

McAfee says the police raided the house next door to where he was and he evaded them.

McAfee called: Says police spokesperson did not say he is a suspect. The spokesperson has only said that he is wanted for questioning.

Either way, McAfee says he has no intention of turning himself in for questioning as he believes he will not survive police custody.

McAfee on phone just now: I have radically altered my appearance.
