Bobber, 38 years is a feat of love, for sure. I wrote the following song for my wife for our 20th last year. It's called This Path.
We're not getting any younger
But we still recall the hunger
And the lightning and the thunder that scared us long ago
And our love lives 'cause we feel it
And the years will never steal it
So long as we reveal it and let each other know
And each morning finds us waking
To this world that we have made
Where the light, it justs grows brighter
While the heat may slowly fade
There's no mystery, our history is gonna see us through
And I will never falter if I walk this path with you
I suppose some people take it
And let the changes shake it
Thinkin' they can fake it and play the games they know
But they will never meet love
Not when they really need love
Unless they know to feed love, it will never grow
And each morning finds us waking
To this world that we have made
Where the light, it just grows brighter
While the heat may slowly fade
There's no riddle to unravel, it's as plain as it can be
And I'll catch you if you stumble as you walk this path with me
And round the bend, this path will end
Right where we're meant to be
And I will never falter if you walk this path with me
