The objection to the road isn't because residents don't want a road, it bisects the mangrove lagoons in the island with a fill technique that is in essence a dam across the wetlands destroying mangroves and killing wildlife. The fisherman made objections the environmentalist made objections but The foreign developers need the road to sell lots back there so they can make some money and the Town Board needs the kick backs so lets bipass all the laws and controls and let them do it.
